Amangiri, Sanskrit for Peaceful Mountain, is cradled by the greatest concentration of national parks in the U.S.; a staggering landscape of canyons, mesas, mountains, gorges, rapids and desert. We provide opportunities for guests to explore the area by land, air or water. Hiking, horseback riding and via ferrata crossings are available for every level of ability. The Spa at Amangiri integrates the healing traditions of the Navajo into the various spa treatments. Each treatment draws on the four elements; Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Our Food and Beverage team blends the traditional culinary culture of the Southwest with the modern dining experience. Guests at Amangiri enjoy dishes inspired by Native American Cuisine while taking in the sunrise or sunset from the floor to ceiling windows. Opened in July of 2020, Camp Sarika seems truly set apart from the rest of the world. Here, guests enjoy the true connection to nature. Surrounded by canyons and mesas, the wilderness encampment combines the simplicity and solitude of the desert with the thrill of exploration and adventure.
LOCATION – This role is based in our property Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah (near Page, Arizona). Candidates must be interested in relocating to this very remote area of Southern Utah/Northern Arizona.
THE POSITION – The Guest Assistant is responsible for flawless execution of the entire life cycle of the guest experience ranging from pre-arrival itinerary building, to welcoming guests on property, through fond farewell.
Position includes comprehensive benefits package (employee coverage is approximately $35/month), Paid Time Off, 401k retirement program (partial match), daily staff meal, and worldwide travel benefits. Low cost shared housing is available in nearby Page, Arizona on a limited basis.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Satisfying guest needs and exceeding guest expectations are your # 1 priority.
Projecting a positive hotel image.
Staying abreast of all community activities.
Communicating within Front Office and with other departments regularly.
Attending and participating in daily briefings.
Assisting with and taking reservations.
Inspecting 2-3 arrival rooms DAILY.
Overseeing lobby traffic and welcoming/assisting outside guests.
Preparing registration documents prior to arrival.
Providing pre-arrival recommendations.
Greeting guests by name and escorting them on tour of hotel on the way to their room.
Coordinating room changes with housekeeping.
Assisting with itineraries and preparing necessary vouchers for guest activities.
Monitoring daily activities and itineraries of guests.
Examining guest bills prior to departure for accuracy.
Handling guest departure including payment.
Reconfirming guest travel plans.
Keeping room keys in a secure and orderly manner.
Working with Bellmen to ensure delivery of guest messages, newspaper and luggage.
Overseeing library: CDs, books, DVDs.
Keeping a “guest needs” list.
Handling guest complaints.
Recording information for each shift in a logbook.
Recording guest history and inputting into the computer.
Sharing and disseminating pertinent guest information to appropriate departments or managers.
Answering all phone calls within 3 rings in a friendly and prompt manner.
Keeping high personal grooming standards and maintaining a neat uniform.
Wearing nametag at all times.
Complying with all Amangiri policies and procedures.
Periodic audits of cash bank assigned to this position will be conducted. Overages and shortages will be reported to the Financial Controller.
Performing other duties as assigned by management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must have excellent organizational skills and have excellent verbal and written skills.
Must be proficient with computer programs to include Opera (or other PMS), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Internet.
PHYSICALITY:
This position can be physical in nature. All employees must expect the following for sustained periods during each work shift:
Sustained standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting of slightly heavy loads, sitting, twisting, etc.
Working indoors and outdoors, in various climates including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
