Job Description : Working with other staff editors, you will be responsible for copy editing, proofreading, fact checking, and occasionally completing electronic submissions of various projects. You will also assist in overseeing the routing and accurate completion of projects, while interacting with other departments, including account, art, copy, and medical teams.
Primary Functions:

Copy edit, fact check, and proofread various healthcare marketing projects, including brochures, websites, print, videos, training modules, slide decks, and workshops, using Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and other software applications
Responsible for ensuring correct style, punctuation, grammar, and consistency using AMA and client style, as well as checking reference annotations for accuracy
Work closely with editorial staff and project managers to gain clarity on assignments and ensure projects are completed on time and as required
Exercise and communicate good judgment when assessing the level of editing a project requires and ensure QC process steps are completed on all projects
Maintain style guides for assigned brands
Tag and link documents in online submission systems occasionally

Desired Skills and Experience:

College degree, preferably in English, communications, or related field
At least 3 years’ medical editing experience, preferably in an agency setting with some supervisory or training experience
Proven copy editing and proofreading skills and experience, including knowledge of AMA style
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to manage work independently, resolve conflicts and issues, and work proactively
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment on a wide variety of projects, with changeable deadlines and expectations, and to work effectively with off-site staff or freelancers
Strong computer skills and aptitude, including knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint), Adobe, and experience with electronic editing/routing
Previous experience with electronic submissions systems preferred, but training will be provided
