The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake rely on compassionate and dedicated leaders who give their time and heart to help kids in the local community fulfill a life changing mission.JOB SUMMARYDirects and manages overall daily operations of the Club under the control of the organization with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery. Also supervises and trains staff (direct and indirect reports), oversees three departments, handles personnel issues, manages facility, develops and manages a budget, manages community relations, volunteers, and membership administration.KEY ROLESEssential Job Responsibilities: 1. Leadership:Oversees the leadership development for two Program Directors and other key staff to help ensure a strong working team.Establish Club programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates achievement of youth development outcomes.Ensure a healthy, safe environment, with well-maintained facilities, equipment and supplies.Creates and maintains excellent rapport with schools and school district personnel/administration, community supporters and local municipalities.2. Oversite of programs and activities:Plan, develop, implement and evaluate Clubs overall programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation.Responsible for overseeing and managing systems for accurate recordkeeping, accurate and timely reporting, program accountability, safety, maintenance of facility, budget and revenue management.3. Resource Management:Manage Club financial resources, assisting in the development of annual budgets. Control expenditures against budget.Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the Club’s physical properties and equipment, including use of facilities by outside groups. Ensure compliance with organization policies.Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for branch staff and volunteers. Conduct regular staff meetings.4. Marketing and Public Relations:Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services and activities within the Club and the community.Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with community organizations, schools and local businesses in support of Club programsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge: Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experienceA minimum of five years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experienceDemonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnelStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staffAbility to deal effectively with members including discipline problemsWorking knowledge of budget preparation, control and managementDemonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leadersOther Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age or olderMust be able to drive 15 passenger vehicles and have a good driving recordMust be able to pass a criminal background checkMust be able to pass Drug ScreeningBe CPR and First Aid certifiedBe adaptable and flexible to changeAssume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisorMust be able to stand for extended periods of time (three hours or more consecutively)Must be able to lift 30 pounds sporadically during a regular work shiftMust be able to be physically active (bend, kneel, reach, stretch, etc.) throughout a regular work shiftGREAT FUTURES START HEREAs part of our mantra, Great Futures Start Here, applies not only to our Club Members, but Boys & Girls Clubs employees.
