Job Description : Highland City is accepting applications for a Full-Time Public Works Operator I Lead Parks position. Hours of work are Monday – Thursday from 7:00am to 5:30pm. A generous benefit package, onsite training, and skills development are standard at Highland City.JOB SUMMARYThe successful candidate will have direct responsibility over our seasonal parks crew in maintaining ball fields, pavilions, playgrounds, park strips, weeding, mowing, planting, garbage removal from parks, and other duties as assigned. Assist with sprinkler repair as necessary and provide appropriate training on safety and personal protective equipment, first aid, minor mechanic work on mowers or other equipment as needed.Additional job duties include, but are not limited to: a working level of skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of city public works service systems including streets, water distribution, waste water collection, pressurized irrigation, cemetery, parks open spaces and city environment and facilities maintenance.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS§ Graduation from high school or equivalent§ Prefer two to three years of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair of public works systems§ Ability to operate heavy equipment of various kinds under varying conditions, perform heavy physical labor, work from blueprints, tolerate weather extremes in the work environment, and knowledge of safety standards related to maintaining streets, parks, and water and sewer systemsAbility to portray a positive image with seasonal staff in a courteous and professional manner.§ Valid Utah Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) required within six (6) months of hire date§ Must be self-motivated, open minded problem solver that adapts readily to changeTO APPLYInterested candidates must submit a resume and a completed Highland City job application to Pam Stagg, Human Resource Generalist.
