Pay rate $70-80K annually; potential for 25% bonus based on personal and camp performance.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a unique opportunity to work outdoors close to some of the country’s most popular national parks. As a General Manager (GM), you lead your team members to ensure the camp delivers exceptional guest experiences. The critical role of GM serves as an expert in customer service and operational processes, collaborating daily with team members from front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, and food & beverage. The GM communicates goals and expectations to the team and aims to build a team-oriented culture focused on connections with people and nature.

Create departmental action plans to evoke change and make improvements
Cross trained in each property department
Resourcefulness in scheduling to find solutions and improvements
Think critically to respond and react quickly to ever changing situations on property
Communication
Collaborate with Regional management and corporate to align on company values, standards, goals, and processes
Deliver clear goals and expectations to the team in all operational areas to achieve results
Professional in all internal and external communications
Review and lead training sessions among team members
Maintain a positive and open-minded attitude
Decision Making
Resolve guest and team member issues quickly and efficiently
Confidently and effectively make decisions to achieve goals
Hiring decisions include posting positions, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, approvals of extending offers, onboarding tasks and deadlines with HR
Collaborate with Regional Director and HR to support staffing and retention
Delegate tasks to maximize proficiency
Initiative
Ability to run the camp independently and motivate team members
Find ways to streamline processes to maximize efficiency and resource use
Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses and communities
Develop creative outlets to engage team members and show appreciation or recognition on a consistent and regular basis
Achieves Results
Participate in planning and execution of capital projects and developments
Have a growth mindset to initiate projects and improvements
Lead all departments and efficiently train, coach and support team members to be successful at their positions
Evaluate, develop, and report on guest and team engagement
Monitor financial performance to drive business decisions
Ability to complete financial reports and track financial goals relating to P&L and budgets
Spearhead new initiatives to drive financial results
Build the annual budget for camp location
Maintain departmental checkbooks
Complete and support monthly and yearly inventory as needed per department
Management
Create synergy across all property departments through strong leadership
Coach team members to support their growth and development
Create a positive work environment that is team-oriented and guest-focused
Ensure that all camp-level SOPs and expectations are implemented and maintained
Oversee staff housing to include lease agreements, landlord relationships, coordinate utilities, ensuring housing essentials are provided, monthly inspections, maintenance issues, housing audits, and be point of contact for housing employee relations
Oversee the onboarding and success of J1 and H2B team members
Create and deliver corrective action documents to team members
Responsible for payroll approvals and timecard adjustments
Time Management
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
Implement action plans and improvements decisively
Participate in camp level, corporate, and company-wide meetings
Lead weekly camp leadership meetings and establish daily departmental standups
Host monthly camp level town hall for all team members to attend
Submit high quality work products in a timely manner
Respond to guest reviews in the established time period
Other duties as assigned
WHAT IT TAKES
At least 1 year of management experience or 2+ years of supervisory experience, or a combination of both. Hospitality experience preferred, but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older and have a High School Diploma or GED
Must have a valid driver’s license
Desire to connect people with the outdoors and create a positive environment
Competently perform duties and complete tasks efficiently
Travel to assist variety of camp locations as required
Expert in all operational departments and areas
Goal-oriented, team-focused, results-driven, strong interpersonal and communication skills
Communicate in a clear and professional way to establish goals and results
Interact with a friendly, enthusiastic, positive attitude
Demonstrate sound judgement, lead by example, and take decisive appropriate action
Learn, embrace, and train team on company policies, practices, and procedures including Emergency and Safety plans
Strong organizational skills to execute and prioritize multiple tasks
Delegating tasks when necessary
Able to influence and inspire teams
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on assigned projects
Proficiency in reading financial data and reports relating to P&L and Budgets
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and in HMS and POS systems
Participate in educational and training opportunities

Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time, including during extreme heat and cold or weather events
Ability to lift 30lbs independently; all lifts over 51 lbs. require assistance from a co-worker
