Job Description : Job Description: The General Manager is responsible for all theatre activities and works to ensure that all activities are consistent with the Theatre’s business plan and company policies. He or she works to provide an amazing guest experience and ensures that all employees are meeting expectations in all areas of their job descriptions. The Galaxy Monroe General Manager will have unique marketing expectations and reporting requirements.Essential Functions: Customer SatisfactionConsistently provide a top-quality guest experience that delivers total guest satisfactionModels and creates an environment in which the guest is the priorityResponds positively and promptly to guest concernsCorrect potential problems before they affect guestsHire high quality staff who ensure consistent customer satisfactionEnsure all employees are trained, motivated, and empowered to deliver total guest satisfactionMaintains theatre at the level necessary to meet and exceed company standards for serviceUtilizes labor effectively to meet budgets while ensuring high quality serviceTraining and DevelopmentContinuously improve the skills, knowledge, and morale of all employeesTreats the employees with dignity and respect and creates an environment where the team does the sameEffectively utilize all training programs from new employee orientation up to and including management training programsPrepares qualified employees for promotionContinually develop adequate number of shift leaders to meet the objective of the business planEvaluate each employee’s performance based on clearly communicated standards and expectationsHolds the employees accountable for performance and confronts poor performanceMakes decisions regarding all performance related issues in the theatreEffective Business ManagementMaximizes financial performance and profitResponsible for all fiscal aspects of the theatre.Develops and executes the business planExecutes initiatives on time, correctly, and with minimal directionIdentifies and develops marketing strategies to maximize salesAppropriate and Fair Business PracticesEnsures that business and personnel practices are consistent with policies, procedures, and the lawEnforces federal, state, and local labor lawsFollows procedures to maintain the safety and security of all employees, guests, and company assetsUpholds food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of guests and employee’s hoursAble to work a minimum of 50 hour per weekAble to work flexible hours necessary to manage and operate the theatre effectively including weekends and holidaysMisc.Preferred executive level leadership experienceMust have valid driver’s licenseAble to lift 50 poundsWill be required to report regularly and provide measure for marketing effortsRequirement for community involvement, chamber of commerce and service club participation.May be required to represent the theatre in dealing with city affairs and requests.May be required to attend selected public eventsMay be required to attend training at a sister theatre locationGM Schedule ExpectationsIt is important to express the expectations in regards to a weekly work schedule. It’s not fair if you do not know what is expected:The GM schedule should consist of working a minimum of 45 hours per week.As GM, you will actively open and close either Friday or Saturday every week.You are expected to be at your theatre during Prime times.As the leader of your management team, you will be on time and in your building according to your schedule.Notification needs to be given if you would like to leave early, or will be late. If you are interested in leaving early on a weekend evening, you should have all of your work done. Meaning that no one should be waiting on things like Invoice and Petty Cash Logs, Payroll, etc. All of your work should be completed. Otherwise there is work that can be done instead of going home early.If Inventory Day falls on a weekend you are still required to stay through your prime set. This also goes for staff meeting days.A GM schedule should look like the following:Friday Open to Close or 12pm-11pm (open to close meaning by the time the doors open to when the day is closed out in Vista).Saturday Open to Close or 1pm-11pm.Sunday 9am-6pm, 12pm-8pm at least an 8 hour shift will do. During the slow times a 6 hour shift would be allowed.Monday Open and until bookings are complete which is normally a 10-6 or 10-8 shift or as you see fit but all Monday task must be completed.Tuesday 12pm-8pm but if your theatre does more volume on Thursdays with premiere shows you can swap Tuesday for Thursday and adjust your hours to the time needed.I understand every business/theatre runs differently and it might feel that you are needed during different time frames and that is fine.
